Here they are but I had worked them all out last night and thought that is was a bit unfair on everyone else. But here they are.
How long did the Hundred Years' War last?
It last for 116 years because there was a break in between.

It was actually in February because in 1917 the Russians were still using the Gregorian calendar which left out 4 months of the year.

One example is sufficient to illume you ignorance. No need to decry the low level of intelligence you exhibit needlessly.

What about the others, who have replied to your quiz, how are they are doing?
I double checked on google and on my bookshelves too.

I heard the Canary Islands were named after dogs, but apparently there is another explanation ...
People started to call all islands "the Islands of Canaria", from which they were later called "Canary Islands". Again, here we are told that the name derives probably from a north African tribe (the Canarii) or possibly the Latin term Insularia Canaria meaning Island of the Dogs. Take your pick!

I shall give the answers tomorrow.

Thank you, M'Lord. I shall diligently await edification.

OOOOOHHHHHHH,WOOOWWWW!
I am so amazed at the erudition shown, I could almost barf.
And, as usual, not as erudite as is needed for 100% accuracy. Below is the black box from Alaska Airlines Flight 261 as retrieved by the robotic arm in the foreground.

PLEASE NOTE: as mentioned in a previous post, orange and white is often used in black boxes to provide a contrasting color scheme for easier underwater recognition. Water tends to wash out the colors. geometric shapes are thus the more easily recognized feature.
-
Indeed, Jimmy boy - but the colour is predominatnly orange. Orange/white is an acceptable answer also.

I shall concede the next correction from you, sir, as you so graciously have done here.
