Title: How many planets are there?
Post by: Hadrian on 15/07/2006 20:41:43
Come get off the fences let have your view is Pluto a planet or not?

I say it is until we have a clear definition of what is a planet is. As Mickey Mouse would say “That a boy Pluto”

What you do speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say.

Pluto is a minor planet or asteroid because it is not gravitationally dominant in its orbit pattern and other similar objects exist in similar orbits.  Most astronomers have considered this to be true ever since it was discovered.

God says so!

Speaking of planets and our solar system -- a question of scale and relative distance:

If the Earth was 1mm in diameter, the Sun would be approximately 10cm. Now, what would be the distance between the two to get the correct scale?
