Physics, Astronomy & Cosmology / Re: Does blood flow reverse in space?
« on: 14/11/2020 21:44:43 »
Clearly there is a problem for circulation in astronauts exposed to microgravity. This poses serious problems for the current assumptions in circulation.

1. if our circulation is struggling against gravity, why does it reverse direction when gravity is reduced?
2. Indeed, why does the blood-flow reverse against the pressure from the heart?
3. Why does Professor Michel Cabanac's experiment show blood flow reversal, against the normal flow from the heart, where higher evaporation rates, due to exercise are achieved?

This paper deserves a great deal of attention. https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamanetworkopen/fullarticle/10.1001/jamanetworkopen.2019.15011

Retrograde (reversed) blood flow in healthy astronauts during 50 days space flight.
JAMA Network
Exposure to a weightless environment during spaceflight results in a chronic headward blood and tissue fluid shift compared with upright posture on Earth. To investigate the association of the change with cerebral venous outflow, researchers obtained jugular vein ultrasonography of healthy crew members participating in long-duration spaceflight missions to the International Space Station. Stagnant and/or reverse internal jugular vein flow was observed in 6 of 11 crew members on flight day 50. This ultrasonography video illustrates an example of retrograde (grade 4) flow; blood in the internal jugular vein is flowing in the reverse direction (toward the head, left). Click
to view a video example of stagnant internal jugular venous flow and https://ja.ma/2NtZlGX for full details of the investigation.

It get's worse:
Abstract.
The practice of eating rumen flukes of cattle by a section of people living in Meghalaya, a north eastern State of India, is reported in this communication.Economically backward, some rural people belonging to Khasi, Jaintia, Garo, and Karbi tribes of Christian and Nepali communities who eat beef are accustomed to consuming cooked flukes during breakfast, meals, and also along with rice beer or alcohol. Inspection of the rumens of cattle during slaughter indicated a prevalence of flukes belonging to Cotylophoron, Paramphistomum, Calicophoron, Gastrothylax and Fischoederius genera in 74% cases, and their collection from rumen ranged approximately from 50g to 600g. Biochemical analysis of flukes found 12.60% total protein, 0.78% fat, and 0.87% ash on fresh weight basis. High prevalence of flukes, easy visualization in rumen, their bulk collection, presence of nutritive value, absence of any ill effect, and lack of imminent danger of transmissibility are believed to be the rationales influencing their consumption by people. It is suggested that dietary benefits obtained from flukes might contribute to the energy transfer and inclusion in the food web. Keywords: rumen flukes, human consumption, India

I agree Alan and fear this is the tip of the iceberg for farming. I wonder if they could claim against the government who neglected to maintain the waterways? From childhood, I seem to remember being told that snail eggs attached to vegetation become attached to water fowl who then fly off / migrate to other regions and countries. Perhaps it's not the movement of cattle that is spreading this parasite?

Physiology & Medicine / Re: What foods can stop cataracts, and is there a conspiracy to stop us finding out?
« on: 08/11/2014 19:14:35 »
Met a guy in a pub in Torquay who had two parrots one red and one blue and yellow Macaws, both of which suffered with cataracts. I suggested regularly bathing the eyes with distilled water, which is a very aggressive solvent, having met an elderly lady who completely cured her own cataracts by regularly bathing her eyes with an eye bath and plenty of tap water, can't remember whether she said it had been previously boiled or not.

A month or so ago, I met this guy while out walking around a car boot sale and noticed him with his Harris hawk and we both recognised each other. I asked if he tried the distilled water and he admitted that he hadn't but told me about an enzyme he purchased that he had added to their food and the cataracts had cleared completely. He also said that he had obtained more of the enzyme and had a few people using it who also reported improvements.
Sorry I have no idea which enzyme he used but will make notes next time I see him and report back here.

Having fed our dogs raw meat for many years, collected from an abattoir or purchased frozen from other sources, it came to our attention that the last batch of raw green tripe were infected with parasites that at first looked similar to seeds inside a pomegranate.

To add to this, earlier in the year we came across a cow in a heard that had severe oedema in it's jaw line and recent research into this particular parasite has revealed that the cow's condition is bottle-jaw, a symptom related to heavy fluke infections.

The video from the link provided is short and to the point and graphically shows the Rumen fluke along with the infected cow.

Note on reporting the cow, which was in Churston, Torbay, South Devon UK we were told that the cow was allergic to grass and sunlight, which not for a minute did we accept. It was then reported to the local area vet connected to DEFRA and we were assured that they would call back to let us know the outcome and didn't.

The history of this particular parasite has shown a rapid spread throughout the UK and I suspect that given the fact that it requires a water snail host to proliferate, the recent flooding may have accelerated the success of this leach like invader. What do you think?

The Science of Sleep Radio Interviewing Andrew Fletcher by Charles De Carle http://peoplesinternetradio.com/
GRAVITY Heals Sleeping Flat makes us sick according to Andrew K Fletcher, who has spent 20 years researching the History of sleep to find answers to why we sleep on flat beds today.
His exciting sleep posture discovery has helped countless people to regain their health against impossible odds simply by raising the head end of their bed by around 6 inches or 15cm, causing the entire bed to slope down from head to toe at an angle of approximately 5 degrees to the horizontal.

http://youtu.be/x68PLE8MXJE  Video of radio interview with Patrick Timpone on One Radio Network. It's an hour long so save the link for when you have time to listen.

The interview covers how Andrew made this remarkable discovery in circulation by revisiting how trees circulate sap. Moving on to how this same density driven circulation applies to the body. He then talks about how he applied this to how we sleep and sit, because posture had become far more important than anyone could imagine.

The radio Host has asked his listeners to test IBT and to report back to the show when Andrew is re-invited back to learn what the listeners have discovered about raising the head of their bed 15cm higher than the foot end.

History of sleeping is also discussed where Andrew explains about Ancient Egyptian beds being inclined and how people became afraid to sleep flat in the Tudor period during the sweating sickness.

It is well worth a listen.

New Theories / Re: How do Trees Really lift Water to their Leaves?

Radio Interview with Patrick Timpone on One Radio Network

20 years ago Andrew made a phenomenal discovery in circulation and how gravity acts upon fluid density changes that take place in all fluids where water is evaporated. In trees (Where this theory began) evaporation from the leaves alters the density of sap. In the body, the warm lungs and airways provide the same density changes in the blood and other fluids. It was not long before it became obvious that posture was incredibly more important than anyone could imagine. To make use of these density changes and allow them to assist the circulation all we needed to do was to manage our posture.
This was a Eureka moment of such magnitude it went off the scale for Andrew and instantly gave birth to Inclined Bed Therapy.

-Andrew explains how learning about how trees uptake water led him to understand the benefits of inclined bed therapy

Dear Friends,

I just created the petition "Inclined Bed Therapy (IBT) Trials In Hospitals" and wanted to ask if you could add your name too. The petition is asking for trials to be conducted to evaluate Inclined Bed Therapy.

This campaign means a lot to me and the more support we can get behind it, the better chance we have of succeeding. You can read more and sign the petition here:

Thank you!

Andrew

P.S. Can you also take a moment to share the petition with others? It's really easy – all you need to do is forward this email or share this link on Facebook or Twitter:
