Past climate research project launches crowd funding campaign
« on: 06/11/2014 20:29:02 »
Hi All,

The Northeast Greenland Caves Project is hoping to take an expedition to Northeast Greenland during the summer of 2015 in order to collect samples of cave deposits for use in the first record of past climate change from caves in Greenland. The record will be older than the current limit of the Greenland ice cores, and so will be contributing to new knowledge about past climate change in the Arctic. We will be using conservative sampling methods, and patching holes afterwards in order to reduce our impact. Our project is run out of the University of Innsbruck, Austria, but is working closely with the University of Minnesota, USA.

We have received a significant amount of financial support, but are now running a crowd funding campaign to try and raise the remaining funds needed to undertake the expedition. If you are interested in donating to this project, please visit

where we have a number of rewards on offer. The campaign runs until 29th December, and if the full target is not reached, then we receive nothing. Please share/tell/tweet all your friends and colleagues. The more people that know about it, the more it is likely to be successful.

The project website with more general information is at newbielink:http://www.northeastgreenlandcavesproject.com [nonactive] and of course we have all the social media feeds too

Thanks for reading,

Hoping some of you will be becoming a Friend of the Northeast Greenland Caves Project.

Kind regards,
Gina
