What would the scientific community's reaction be to a sudden volcanic eruption from a moonquake(s)?

It is thought that the Moon has a partially molten outer core, with a radius of around 560km.
- It would be very surprising if this partially molten rock was able to make it to the surface, at a radius of 1700km
- The large basalt "seas" filled large impact craters when the Moon was much younger, and the molten core was much closer to the surface.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internal_structure_of_the_Moon#Core

Amateur astronomers have occasionally photographed bright spots appearing on the moon.
- These are attributed to large meteorites striking the Moon, creating an explosion of hot rock and leaving behind a new crater.
- I do wonder whether the traditional Moslem flag with a star in the crescent Moon was a particularly large event of this type?
      - I am sure that Arab astronomers knew that no stars could appear on the Moon's dark side
      - And so the sudden/temporary appearance of just such an event may have created quite an impact on their astronomical minds???

Surprise and curiosity - the scientific reaction to all rare events.
