Will delaying the second vaccine jab affect how well it works?
« on: 26/01/2021 11:49:23 »
Sean says:

The UK Government has announced that they plan to delay the second vaccine jab up to 12 weeks. Pfizer has express concern at this plan. Could this decision effect the protection that a vaccine offers?

Can you help?

Have Pfizer published their argument?

It seems to me that it would revolve around whether giving half rations risks breeding a vaccine-resistant virus similar to antibiotic resistant bacteria from under-dosing antibiotics.

I could recommend never voting Tory.

That way we might have a government that follows evidence rather than dogma.

Do you recommend voting Labour instead.  Doesn't the Labour Party follow a "dogma". Such as Marxism.

Personally, I never vote for any of them.  I'm not daft.  It's obvious what all the Parties are up to.  They want to control us.  Not that I mind being controlled, in principle.  Actually I quite enjoy it.  But only in private, by persons that I like.

Although, let's be honest - haven't we all had nocturnal fantasies of being "couche" with Trump?

Not really, no.

And the rest of your post doesn't make much sense either.

The Pfizer arguement is actually simple :- they didn't investigate different time intervals between jabs in the trials so they have no data on what a longer wait would mean.

It would be surprising if antibody and T-cell levels dropped so much before 12 weeks to make the vaccine innefective and very surprising if the longer wait for the booster diminished the immune response - we would expect the opposite. There is uncertainty about how strong an immunity a single shot produces. The new variant's mutation at the binding domain adds to the risk of mutation which Vhfpmr pointed out. Only one of the 4 common human coronaviruses has been investigated for mutation and its rolling mutations build up in number and overcome our immunty over time - after about two years. It may mean that we need annual shots.

Nothing much makes sense anymore.  Don't you get the feeling that a "queerness" has come into everything these days.  In Science, and in Politics, and in Society.  As if something has gone wrong, and we're heading for disaster.
