Guthrie, you're right, very frustrating that POIS has so FEW consistencies (none in the lab!?!), that maybe vitamin D (and anything else that comes up repeatedly) could be worth pursuing. Thanks to you and anyone else who has pursued this.

Sometimes a cyste on another place is responsible for the high cortisol. My cortisol is normal. I didn't go into more depth as soon as I found dramatic POIS relief with testosterone + stimulants.

Vandemolen, you suggested that I write to Dr Paul Musarella, Netherlands. He wrote back that he's booked till February, 2011, and asks "what would we expect of him?" Do you think he's a good match for us to pursue for POIS research?
Quote from: Vandemolen3 on 25/08/2010 23:52:04I think Tarkington has a long term succes with Relora. I sended him a pm but he doesn't react. Maybe you can send him a mail, Demo. You can see his mailadres:http://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=8913Feel free to send him a PM, Vandemolen, it will be sent to his email. We haven't heard from him since January, 2009. Some people reported absolutely no effect with Relora. But all that proves is that POIS seems to be anything but uniform!

Cortisol? Bloodtest. My endo is very skeptical about urine testing. And again, with such dramatic relief with testosterone, I saw no point in any further tests.
I just sent Tarkington an email.

First in the morning. Then in the afternoon. Then in the evening. And the last in the morning the next day. And the best test is the ACTH test (shortage of cortisol, like Addison). And dexamethasone suppression test (too much cortisol, Cushing). Because cortisol and ACTH are related.
I'm sending Tazzy an email, but I'm concerned with the quality of his POIS "relief". It seems that he's happy with relief of some symptoms, but not others. Overall, not enough to make him "well." That's my impression, anyway. He wrote, "Last night I made love to my wife for the first time in 4 weeks and it felt almost as special as our wedding night! But unfortunately I am experiencing some bad POIS now as this is my first trial with the new drug and having sex. Although while I'm feeling sick from the orgasms I think the brain fog and anxiety are significantly lower than normal! I believe that Relora or Restoria clam are very effective in helping us!"

LOL, I will repeat it again, I found no need to delve into further cortisol testing because the testosterone treatment changed my life. Radically! My POIS was virtually eliminated.
Relora is just a nature medicine. Another medicine that suppresses cortisol would work better.

There has been quite a bit of exploration with cortisol and Cushing Syndrome, especially by Counterpoints.http://www.google.com/#hl=en&rlz=1W1DAUS_en&q=Cushing+POIS+site%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fthenakedscientists.com&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&pbx=1&fp=b18416edbb9fc9c7http://www.google.com/#hl=en&rlz=1W1DAUS_en&q=cortisol+POIS+site%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fthenakedscientists.com&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&pbx=1&fp=b18416edbb9fc9c7

Something tells me that Cushings isn't something we should be worried with because no body (at least to my knowledge) has complained about high blood pressure. My blood work didn't show abnormally high cortisol while I was symptomatic. But don't get me wrong, I think there is high potential for cortisol to be involved in POIS, but probably not severe enough to cause something like Cushings.
I just add the list of sufferers with low Vitamin D level here :http://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/index.php?topic=6576.msg201517#msg201517Guthrie said there are 6 cases, I may forget somebody --I can confirm Pyro is right, in my case. I have checked blood pressure just before(140,normal but high limit) and after orgasm (120 : good). And blood pressure didn't increase during flu-like episode.--Tarkington have posted this great and hopeful post :Hey everyone,It has been awhile since I last posted. I have been following the forum. I am glad to read that Relora is helping some people. Just wanted to let everyone know that I have now been taking Relora three times a day since last October. The results have been life changing. I have not had any of the symptoms of POIS since October. I have orgasms everyday and most of the time more than once per day. Everything still seems great. Thanks!! []
