"I'll go into their bedroom and snuggle with my mom, because I've been working all day and haven't seen her. I'm not around other people my age that much, so I don't know how 16-year-olds are supposed to act! I just do what feels right."
This is a huge peace of tail

FFS its her parents!! She is getting in bed with her Mum for a cuddle, when she needs it, there is nothing more natural or normal than cuddling with your child, whether its in a bed, in the kitchen, a hig good bye or whatever. My daughter is 14 and very occasionally if she is pretty down or ill she will ask to snuggle in bed with me, its rare, but its lovely when it happens, she maybe growing into a woman but she is still my little girl, and always will be. You don't lose the maternal feeling no matter how old your children are.
