Title: Surface Computing at Microsoft
Post by: engrByDayPianstByNight on 28/10/2007 03:29:54
Here's a video clip of a new paradigm of computing called surface computing, developed by Microsoft. Although some ideas of it are not that novel (having been around for a couple of decades), the implementation is pretty neat.

The dreaded smart board has got a long way to go. Very impressive - from the demo, at least.
Then we need some competant voice input to make the system really useful.
Imagine never having to type another word on a keyboard.
What will all the smart alecs do with no keyboard equivalents?

That makes me think of that Star Trek film (The Voyage Home?) where Scottie picked up the mouse & tried talking to it  [;D]
