Title: Is It Possible To Remotely Control Commercial Aeromobiles ?
Post by: neilep on 13/02/2010 17:59:39
As a sheepy I am of course an able pilot of all types of aeromobiles...look here I am piloting an aeromobile..

Me Piloting An Aeromible Yesterday

Say for instance my co-pilot and I lost consciousness...is there not a way that another pilot in a rescue plane could intercept us and remotely control the aeromobile ?..This could be useful in the event of other times when nasty people have taken over the plane.

Ok, but it could also be useful for nasty people who wants to direct a plane onto a building... [:)]

Yes, if the right systems were installed. Remotely Operated Vehicles, including aircraft, are increasingly being employed by the military. They can take off and land and give a view as though the remote controller were piloting the craft. Providing the time delay is not too long, this is not technologically difficult today. Remote Operated aircraft have been flown in operations in Iraq from bases in the USA (via satellite links) which must make it a bit tricky.

As lightarrow says you may have to take precautions!

Thanks ewe both Graham and Lightarrow.

I agree, there could also be an opportunity for nasty peeps to remotely control the planes too but I have to believe that there would have to be such an ultra secure fail-safe system that to be able to do this would be impossible (virtually).........There must be a way to make it fail safe !
