Here in Manhatten, there are streets where the smell of "curry" is becoming more and more prominent with the rise of Indian and Pakistani restaurants. Both Indian and British ex-pats favorably say it smells like home.

Yes indeed, the aroma of a good curry is a magnificent one. My favourite dish is a vegetable vindaloo or phaal.

Indeed. Since the enforced sterilisation of the North Sea, the British national dish has moved from fish'n'chips to chicken curry. The colonial trade has always been two-way, and various British curries like Balti and Tandoori Tikka have found their way to the subcontinent, with much hilarity.
And the smell is much nicer than fried fish!

The "curry house" dishes are largely British inventions with the input from Bangladeshi chefs. Authentic Indian food is different. The curry house dishes are my favourite.

I like the smell of "people making a living for themselves by selling a viable product".
I'm pretty left wing, but I still like successful small scaler commerce.
I don't really care if it's fish + chips, curry, pizza or what.

I should say that it begins at about 1pm in the afternoon with the cooking of the onion base, mashed up onions broiled is the start fm most curries you buy as to cook one from scratch takes longer than 10 minutes.
