General Science / Re: Why do people join Mensa?

I joined Mensa to see if I could. No regrets, because I met a few interesting people along with some serious nitwits suffering from ego problems.
Had I known more about Mensa I'd have signed up much earlier. The ratio of Mensan males to females (at least in Tucson, Arizona) is seriously favorable to guys. Moreover, many of the males are socially inept, providing no competition. Of course, the same is true for Mensan females, but so what? Most female nerds are snuggly, and don't get into silly intellectual discussions when asleep. Awakening with an interesting and friendly nerd with an IQ of 150 and who knows how to cook a decent breakfast can be an excellent experience.
