Title: How are pollen counts measured?
Post by: katieHaylor on 14/05/2020 09:55:22
Jiten asks:

I hear that one can know the amount of pollen surrounding you. There is a heat map of pollen in your area which particularly helps the people who are allergic. How do they measure this?

What do you think?

Usually with a sticky surface eg adhesive tape on aa drum or passing a slit. Air is passed over it and the number of grains captured in a set time counted. The traps are usually set 2-3 storys high so as not to collect just local pollen
