Previously, there was a category for "My Posts" that which was nice, but perhaps not vital.  It was nice to see which of one's posts had been commented on.

Can I second this?  Although one can get to see 'show posts' though 'Profile' it's not as navigable if you're trying to watch for replies on your threads.
I think that is a different list.
The old "Show Posts" at the top gave a list of what has been recently updated by others.
The one under the profile, I believe, is only a list of what an individual has posted (so you get individual posts, not threads)

I have installed "Speckie" and it now underlines misspelt words but seems to not to offer a correct spelling.

Right click on the underlined words and it should offer some suggestions.

(BTW, it's whining about "misspelt"  ;D )

There also seems a need to update the Question of the Week scripts.

Big upgrades are always such a blast!!!  We'll muddle through for a while. ;)

And the diagram drawing feature should work a lot better. as long as you are using firefox, chrome or a recent version of ie
I tried out the drawing program.
http://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/index.php?topic=42530.0

It certainly is much improved over the previous version.

One problem that I ran into is that objects that I had thought that I deleted apparently weren't fully deleted, and thus created some stray lines in the image.  (using Firefox)

Learning the new layout, but plenty of bad posts in categories I see. As well the download links are iffy, I have some that work, but others I have to go to the RSS XML to see the episodes ( not using iToons or other aggregrator) to download them.

Oh, another thing the new format is missing.

 :) ;) :D ;D >:( :( :o 8D ??? ::) :P :-[ :-X :-\ :X :-'( :I 8 :o) xx( ^ :(! V |) B) 8) ? O8) :0

 [:)] [;)] [:D] [;D] [>:(] [:(] [:o] [8D] [???] [::)] [:P] [:-X] [:-\] [:X] [:-'(] [:I] [8] [:o)] [xx(] [^] [:(!] [V] [|)] [B)] [8)] [?] [O8)] [:0]

One needs to surround the smilies with square brackets [ ] for the system to recognize them.  The buttons, are creating the smilies without the brackets, and thus they don't come out right.

In FF 4 at least the "« Reply #5 on: Today at 15:14:58 "  on the left sides becomes small and almost unreadable.

If you change the "minimum font size" size in FF options from "none" to 9 that text becomes bigger and more readable (see attchment below)

Thanks RD, I can read it now!

Stone me! This could be another excuse for wierd posts!

All we need now is a button to connect to 'GIMP' and who knows what might ensue!

Is it me?

I don't seem to be able to insert picture files etc to posts.

I click on 'Attachments and other options' where I can attach enter the file details, but there's no button to upload the file.

Tch! Silly old fool, I've just seen 'Shift + Alt + S' to upload, but rather than inserting the file, as before, so I can continue with text or other file uploads, it just posts the message. Using 'Shift + Alt + P' for preview only shows the text, not the attached file.

Has anyone figured out how to link to a particular post?  The date/timestamp under the poster's name on the left of each post used to be a hyperlink that you could cut/paste to take someone directly to the post, but it doesn't work with the upgrade.

A good hacker will never be foiled.

You can do it manually.

Click on "Quote"
Now, you can click on "Preview", and right click on the link to get the option "Copy Link Location"

http://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/index.php?topic=42525.msg376055#msg376055

Or you can copy everything from "topic" to "#msgxxx" and put it in the address bar after the "index.php?"

It seems to be impossible to unhide hidden posts.

http://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/index.php?topic=42447.msg375463#msg375463

See posts by Rosy.

Perhaps not the worst thing in the world, but we should probably refrain from hiding more until the bug is fixed.

The "latest shows" is not showing the links to the show, you have to go into each section to get them.

But better you catch up on sleep first instead Dave, as your health is much more important than minor niggles on the site - I will say that 90% is working, and the rest is easy to work around. I will have to look at the manual for Typo3 a little though........

I'm getting a bunch of blank pages with some of the older questions.
Which seems to indicate to me that a part of the database is corrupted.

Right now, I'm seeing a bunch of topics under the 7th page of General Science, but it could be a widespread problem.

There is also something wrong with the forum topic:

Questions that Need Answers

For the most part it has been emptied...  which might be good...  but...
Remaining topics are all locked [:(]

My guess is that somehow the board lost a large chunk of its database / messages.  See above.

Just a query, if I select recent posts and give a range, the results only show and go to the first page of a multipage set, and the bottom of the result is rather incomplete ( as if the page is still loading but is showing as fully loaded) and is missing the nice footer. Is it possible to open to the last post in a selection?
