There are a few things that will affect how loud a pop is:
The pressure that is released
How large a volume of gas is released at this pressure
how quickly the pressure is released.
These will all add together to produce a rapid expansion of the CO2 vibrating the air more.
I am no expert on either drink, but my impression is that champagne is at a higher pressure and hence more fizzy. It comes in larger bottles with quite a large gas space at the top, and it is held in by a cork which when it releases will open the whole of the neck of the bottle so the pressure will be released more quickly than a beer bottle with a crimped metal lid. Hence champagne is louder.

I am not sure if this answer the question as I understand it (I do not say my understanding is correct).
The question seems to ask why the bubbles are louder when they pop, rather than why the bottle is loader when it is opened (i.e. if you fill a similar glass with champagne or with beer, the sound of the bubbles in the champagne is assumed to be loader than the sound of the bubbles in the beer).
If the question is more about the container in which the drink is contained than about the bubbles themselves, then the other factors would be the weight and stiffness of the glass bottle against a can would make a difference in sound, as will the shape of the bottle (the narrowing neck will both channel the sound, but will also channel the pressure that is used to force out the cork).

Aaah yes good point, nothing like answering the wrong question.
I think champagne bubbles are larger when they get to the surface than beer, which will mean there is more energy in the pop. I am not quite sure of the physics of the bubble formation and development I just know it is complex...
The shape of the container will probably make a difference as the container will act as a resonator, if the container is tuned to the frequencies that occur in the pop they will be amplified. I wouldn't put it past champagne flute designers to to deliberately or otherwise tune the flute to make it sound good.

The pressure in Champers is much higher than in beer - That's why the bottles need to be so thick.
The bubbles are bigger, probably for several reasons; Bigger change in pressure means bigger bubbles and probably the beer is more cloudy (even if you can't see it) and this may mean many more bubbles are formed around more nuclei - (foam) rather than a few bubbles, which could grow to a greater size (bubbly).

I still preferr bubbly to beer and from now on I can blame it on the bubbles.

You don't mean the uncorking of the bottle do you?? Don't you mean the sound you here when the bubbles pop as you raise the glass to drink!
Champaign is definitely more bubbly when popping it is the one drink I drank when I first met my husband! I was drunk by the time I finished two glasses LOL! I had never had any and my husband said " Karen, you have to drink it fast before the bubbles disappear and stop bubbling. .. Likely story but me was gullible and he was happy boy.. LOL We had fun..that night... fun did not happen much in them days.. so it was a good memory. He always said champagne was so loud compared to beer!

When I get home at night, I have a beer. If I had Champagne every night - wow. I don't think I'd actually enjoy it as much. eat yer heart out mr bollinger.
