[Pseudoscience-is-malarkey (OP)]

I'm not asking what to use when cleaning it, but what is the best to have in it for waste to fall into and mingle with (I don't know any other way to put it). I've been using a strong, acidic alkaline solution that is usually used by cleaning professionals in toilets (that's why toilets in hotels are so clean you could eat off of them). It absorbs odor 100% (or 99.999999999%), which is good because the waste cannot be disposed of immediately. The subject here is my mother who is recovering from surgeries to correct the spinal stenosis in her neck and lumbar - caused by years of intense physical activity. Moving around is about as difficult as someone with mid-stage ALS. But unlike people with ALS, her doctors are telling her she will most likely recover. (I have not seen any evidence of that yet).

I would strongly suggest nothing other than water, you do not want any nasty substances splashing on the nether regions of one who is using the commode. I have to point out that your use of the term "acidic alkaline" is meaningless. It is either acidic or basic(alkaline) but it cannot be both as these terms are mutually exclusive. I really think this is a question for those professionals involved the care of people with such needs and not a general science question. My older brother died of Hodgkins disease 40 years ago(4/9/84) and we used a commode in the final 6 months of his life but I cannot remember the use of any liquid in it. Sometimes one has to put up with disagreeable odours.

Elsan Toilet Fluid (other brands are available) may be suitable. It comes in  a variety of colors and perfumes and I don't recall any unpleasant side-effects from its use on building and camp sites.

I used a commode in hospital once, and there wasn't anything in it other than what I deposited. Commodes are emptied immediately after use, unlike chemical toilets. I've been splashed by the water in an ordinary toilet on occasion, I wouldn't want that if it was corrosive.
