Plant Sciences, Zoology & Evolution / Evolutionary DNA Leaps in Chromosome counts?
« on: 05/08/2022 23:29:29 »
I just listened to Richard Dawkins say that there was no first man, like Adam. That evolution is gradual, offspring the same as the parents. But that makes me think of DNA counts, such as two chromosomes in fish, maybe four in reptiles... then 46 in our ancestors, who may have cross bred with red headed Neanderthals. And our common ancestors with Gorillas, and the leap from 46 or 44 Chromosomes to a working group of 48 chromosomes in the new species to be Gorillas. Are these offspring immediately different from their parents? How does it happen and how does it work?

Physics, Astronomy & Cosmology / The early Sun at the time just after Theia's impact? What colour was it?
« on: 06/06/2022 14:15:19 »
If we to see the Sun in the sky just after the impact of Theia with the Earth, when the moon was still hot and gaseous, would it have been the same bright yellow, or a dimmer orange or even red?

Physics, Astronomy & Cosmology / Formation of our solar system, the Nova, Nebula, dust and disc formation?
« on: 06/06/2022 14:10:49 »
Gold in our solar system, in the earth's crust formed in a nova or super nova, also everything heavier than iron, true? Was this a nova or super nova event? Was this about five billion years ago? What and where is the remnant of this star and explosion? Was there a resulting nebula? If so, what happened to it? Why wasn't there a resulting dwarf star or neutron star?

Did our solar system form from a nebula or where did the mass come from, for the sun and planets?

It formed a disc in line with the Milky Way's black hole?

Do nebulas have a life span?

New Theories / Traveling back in time, alternate to time paradox theory.
« on: 21/12/2021 07:32:58 »
I recall numerous stories of traveling back in time, and Hawking's idea of a time paradox, with a great volume of light... But I speculate that a time paradox would not happen, and that both the past and present and solid unchangeable realities. If an American soldier went back in time, and sought to marry young princess Elizabeth, Prince Charles could not cease to exist, or morph into a man of another race... First off I think that history has infinite inertia, the atmosphere would crush the time traveler, and the people could not see him, and would knock him down if the atmosphere did not crush him.

But supposing he could interact with people and change the physical and social world, there would form two realities, distinct from each other, two separate worlds, possibly two planets... and the possibility of a collision or the two existing inside each other, dense and hot. To make another world would use up vast amounts of energy. It can't happen.

Just Chat! / New gas power station in NSW could also run on Hydrogen?
« on: 21/05/2021 08:57:47 »
The NSW state government plans to build a new power station in case the green powers sources temporarily under supply. People complain that natural gas is a fossil fuel. But could a station that burns gas also be designed to burn Hydrogen?

Technology / How does this device that extracts water from the air measure up?
« on: 04/04/2021 12:39:35 »
I just saw an add for a product I saw years ago, one that turns air humidity into tap water. People did not believe me then but here is the site: <commercial link removed>

[Mod edit: Product promo site selling for US $1550 a 110v device producing 8 gallons a day]

Just Chat! / The Hardy Question, about perception of something supernatural?
« on: 27/10/2020 11:47:48 »
I came across this question from a scientist of former times:
Have you ever been aware of, or influenced by a presence or power, whether you call it 'God' or not, that is different from your everyday self?

It is the Hardy Question, from Alister Hardy. He was a Marine Biologist. He formed a group in Oxford University in regards to researching this question.

What have you perceived?

Plant Sciences, Zoology & Evolution / How far back in time does one need to look to find the one tribe all come from?
« on: 14/10/2020 17:50:05 »
If we want to find the original tribe from which we all descend, how far back in time need we look? And where did they live?

The Environment / The atmosphere as loose from the crust and it's motion therof?
« on: 08/10/2020 17:22:05 »
I recall that shells in WW1 would when free from the crust the land not turn with the Earth, and land 15 degrees off from a straight line. What effect does the air being loose from the ground have on the air currents?

Plant Sciences, Zoology & Evolution / The meme of fire?
« on: 08/10/2020 15:05:09 »
I would like to discuss the meme of fire in the evolution of humans. The first humans to control fire, start fires and cook food and possibly fight with fire.

Fire has effected the development of the brain and digestive system.

When did this start and what differences did it make?

Chemistry / To degrease cycle brake pads?
« on: 01/10/2020 10:49:08 »
I bought water resistant grease for my cycle, and applied it to my chain. But some went onto my front disk brake and I tried cleaning it, but I need advice on how to fully remove it. The brake doesn't properly work as is.

Just Chat! / "Abolish police brutality", and not, "Defund the police".
« on: 12/08/2020 19:01:41 »
I advocate to abolish police brutality as infinitely superior to defund the police. If the police are not paid and can't work, that means the most dangerous people can walk out of prison. The most dangerous criminally insane also can walk out. And thieves and muggers are uninhibited. It is only the police brutality that must change. Racial and other old fashioned and unscientific typology can go replaced by something police chiefs find to be good quality psychology.

Defund Hamas, was the cry of the ACLJ some years ago. To defund a terrorist organization that was attacking Israelis with money in part from Obama's admin, if I am not mistaken. To quote "defund" before police, is a way of comparing the US police with terrorists. It divides the US. I have seen footage of a Muslim lady in the US advocating for BLM with references of hate for Israel.

Israel is a nation of people, citizens coming from Europe, Africa, India, China... and they tolerate various religions living in their midst. They are the only country like this, free, and democratic in their region.

Abolish police brutality aims to sound more like "abolish slavery" quoting William Wilberforce.

If we can can have more coloured police, like African American and Sikh, and new protocol, that it what people need, to help unite the USA.

Physics, Astronomy & Cosmology / Recent Australian green meteorite?
« on: 22/06/2020 21:40:52 »
Recently footage was taken of a meteorite over Australia. It burned green, why was is this so? If it landed in the sea, could it have been toxic?

Physics, Astronomy & Cosmology / Falling into a black hole and entropy?
« on: 22/06/2020 21:36:12 »
When an object such as a planet, falls into a black hole, is entropy reversed and is work done of any kind or are there any extraordinary phenomena, reversing decomposition...?

Physics, Astronomy & Cosmology / Viewing Light and Relativity from a Third Point?
« on: 22/06/2020 15:23:23 »
If we look at light emitted from a far distant galaxy, on the other side of the initial explosion, so that the source is travelling away from us at 90% the speed of light but the light to the Earth's surface. And the light is intense. And between the to places is a tape, not destroyed by stars... made of something like lead oxide. And the tape is shaped like a triangle, a pointy end facing the star and a flat end near the Earth. There can be one such tape moving relative to the star and one to the Earth. And if there is a point looking down on the tape equidistant from each end of the tape. From there the tape is a flat triangle as light reaches the point near the star, it reflects some light up to the vantage point. As time goes on the tape widens as compared to the star light and from the high point more reflection comes from the white compound. I suppose there would be red shift. How fast would the tape appear to be lit up from the high vantage point? Considering two tapes, relative to the Earth and the other to the distant star? Since the light must be travelling at the speed of light, as it leaves and as it arrives.

Plant Sciences, Zoology & Evolution / Insects and lizards, convergent evolution?
« on: 09/03/2020 14:03:54 »
Is the fact that lizards, the first land animals, have a head and tail and legs convergent evolution with insects with similar features or do we have a common origin?

Did insects originally come out from the sea?

Just Chat! / Why anglo-saxons and not saxon-angles?
« on: 28/02/2020 08:55:16 »
Why is it that the name for the native English is anglo-saxons and not saxon-angles?
