Probably because of formic acid, Happened few days back, when I passed by colony and few of them got on to my shoe. It bleeds as well.

Plant Sciences, Zoology & Evolution / Re: How do birds know when & where to find water in Australia?
« on: 27/01/2022 11:13:56 »
Dont know much about fish but birds migrate from location to location. It helps them find food, water, shelter for breeding & production, and safety from extreme weather. Also, bird hunting revolve around seasonal migration.

The Environment / Re: How long should an environment remain abandoned after a nuclear accident?
« on: 27/01/2022 11:05:12 »
Not an expert but most probably it depends on amount of nuclear material and radioactivity. Hiroshima, Nagasaki are alive and vibrant now and units used on japan were 15 ktonns. It would be interesting to know exact estimate based on elements present.

Geology, Palaeontology & Archaeology / Re: How does the Earth's core work?
« on: 27/01/2022 09:59:15 »
Since Earth core is liquid and is everything is in continuous movement which stabilize and create natural equilibrium. The huge glacial mountains must have role in it.
