Why are some people gay?

Why are some people gay?
There are two components of human sexuality. There is the physical body and physical mind. Most often the physical mind will align itself to the physical body. A male will be attracted to a female and vice-versa. This is the majority case. In addition we have a spiritual mind. This mind physically occupies the same space as the physical mind. The spirit has no sexual organs as such. Thus it can be either male or female or both.
As the fetus develops a point is reached where it is recognized as a male or a female. However the spiritual mind picks up information from the spiritual mind of the mother. When the mother and father have sex the spiritual mind of the fetus learns somewhat about human sexuality.
The baby is born and picks up differences between male and female. Yet it still has not developed into a male spirit or a female spirit. Slowly over time it will align itself to the mother’s spirit or the father’s spirit. Sometimes it will align itself with both.  Within about two or three years the spirit’s sexuality will become frozen.
A young boy may find himself attracted to young girls most of the time. However some of the time a young boy will find himself attracted to another boy.  This is a condition where the male child has a female spirit.  The religions of old turned the physical/spiritual unbalance into something evil. It is just a natural occurrence.
The gay man looks for love and finds himself spiritually attracted to another gay man. The spiritual mind looks into the physical mind and sees a male body in another gay man. The other man sees the same thing. Yet if they could look deeper they would realize that both had female spirits.
Moses declared that gay people should be put to death. The Gospel writers condemned them to eternal torture in hell. Yet they are guilty of nothing. They can serve their Gods and achieve absorption by their Gods. As such they can share in the world to come.
Since the spirits are collectivized by their Gods the net result is neither male nor female. So to be gay or straight means nothing to one’s ultimate salvation.

What do you mean by why?  I guess because they are sexually attracted to members of the same sex.  Why are some people attracted to skinny people and some to heavy people.  Who cares?

GG: A lot of people care. Gay people have been mentally tortured and often killed because they are gay.No one is killed for loving a skinny or a fat person. Homosexuality is considered a crime in some societies. Since it is a natural spiritual event, it is not a sin or a crime. Therefore gay people should be treated like everyone else.

So the real question is why does anyone care about anyone else's sexual orientation?

The answer, as in so many cases of arbitrary and inhumane behavior, is religion.

GG: For the small Jewish tribe the emphasis was on the survival of the tribe and homosexuality decreased childbirths. This made it a tribal taboo. For an overpopulated world, it is beneficial for the survival of the planets.

I'm doubtful that's the reason, since celibacy isn't a sin.

GG: You raise a good point. The Catholic Church has always been against condoms. Yet celibacy is another form of birth control. some early Jews at the time of Jesus were celibate. The Church did not want married priests since they wanted all the money the Priests could achieve.

Interestingly Jerry, celibacy of the priesthood is not an OT idea. Leviticus lists who a priest is  not allowed to marry - “He shall not marry a widow, a divorcée, a profane woman, or a prostitute. He shall marry only a virgin of his own people”. Although Ezekiel does add marrying the widow of another priest is ok.
Celibacy in the Catholic church was a pretty late affair (around 530CE) and caused real upset when priests were forced to leave their wives and children.

GG: It was expected that when a brother died, the living brother would marry his brothers wife.  In this way the widow would not starve to death. In a similar view what you say ensures that the priests wife and family would be provided for. Jews  could have more than one wife. Often female servants were treated like another wife. Christians did not follow this but the Mormons certainly did.

Yeah, and poor old Onan got it in the neck for not wanting to do the marriage deed.

Indeed most rabbis of either sex are married. It's illogical to preach the value of marriage, solemnise and record marriage, and not practise it. Would you buy a car from a man who rode a horse? (ancient Jewish wisdom!)
