Interesting. However information on the EMP from nuclear weapons has been in the public domain for around twenty years but it is still not realised that one nuclear weapon of the right design could destroy most of the electronics in a sizeble country ie including modern car ingnition syatems and computers.  It is quite difficult to protect extended systems from such effects  I have had to do it in the past.
