In a recent show (http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/podcasts/) you explained that a baby populates its intestinal flora by swallowing the muck it encounters while passing through the birth canal.
What happens when a baby is born by caesarian section? Is the flora as good as it would have obtained by a normal vaginal delivery?
