It might be quicker and cheaper to pour the water directly from the humidifier container directly into the dehumidifier container.

You probably would have a flow of humid air from the first to the second, while the room's intrinsic humidity stays the same (if the humidificator and de-h. have the same exact efficiency).

Sooner or later the humidifier is out of water.
