Embryonic nerve cells transplanted into a recipient brain survive, wire themselves up and can even correct a metabolic disorder in vulnerable individuals, scientists have discovered.

I think I had heard of similar research earlier.

There was a question earlier about injecting pig cells in the brain to correct for Parkinson's disease, which turned out to be little different from placebo.  Perhaps embryonic stem cells would give better results.
