Why has the forum been overtaken with chat?

Gawd knows I don't mind the STB, but there are limits, surely? Please can some of our colleagues keep all those chat comments in a separate thread somewhere? My "recent posts" page is full of too much [O8)].

I kind of wish I'd never started....

There was just a period today when a few guys seemed to be going hell-for-leather all over the place with literally hundreds of one word posts, and not just in the "Chat" forum (for an example, go and have a look at their recent posts from their profile page). All I intended was to try and restore some order and meaning to what was going on - time and place and all that.

Please don't withdraw your own special lunacy!

And it was much appreciated. I'd sent a couple of people a message about it, and deleted or shrunk some of the posts, but it had gotten out of hand.
