Why are we stuck with internal combustion chambered cars?
« on: 25/05/2009 14:41:38 »
In an article today in the Telegraph James May comments on the lack of progress towards, well anything other than an ICC engine in cars. Why do we think this is?

BTW, if anyone mentions the word conspiracy, i will be forced to come to their home and repeatedly stick lit feathers up their nostrils.

There is a conspiracy between the oil producers and the ......
YIKES!!! Who's this running up the garden path with a fist full of lit feathers? Where can I hide???

Although the IC engine is not particularly efficient, the seemingly endless supply of fuel meant there was little or no need for further advance. It is only with today's environmental issues and high oil costs, that oil has become the great evil and new power sources are under intense investigation. The big problem, as I see it, is that we have got so used to our cars, that we are only looking to replace their means of propulsion. Perhaps we should put the car out of our minds and look for whole new concept altogether.

Yes, maybe instead of burning those feathers we can harness them onto our backs.
