Title: How does damage to the Dorsal Horn differ from the Ventral Horn?

I have a quick question for you guys.  Say you injure fall down and injure your back.  The fall causes edema of the central cord leading to compression on the ventral horn in your lumbosacral plexus (nerves from the waist down).  What would be the result?  I know that the ventral horn contains the motor neurons and in the lumbosacral plexus contains the motor neurons for the legs.  So this means basically that I would be paralyzed from the waist down right?  It would more then likely be temporary also since the edema can be treated to go down reducing the compression on the ventral horn?  Does anyone know what I am talking about?  lol

I am studying to be a Radiologist and I am confused right now about the ventral and dorsal horns.  I know if the dorsal horn is damaged that there would be no feeling at all in what ever area is injured since thats where all of the sensory neurons are but when the ventral horn is damanged does that mean you can still feel things but you just can not move?
