There are 3 ways to spell "to" in the English language.
It's true when you say it but a lie when you try to write it.

Is this the pub name?
Yes.
The landlord of The Fox and Goose had a new sign made but he wasn't happy with the lettering. He said to the signwriter "The gaps between Fox and and and and and Goose need to be bigger"
-
to too two true!
Or have I just fallen for something?
What 8 letter word contains the first 6 letters of the alphabet?
-
Sorry, I think I was being a dunce - "It's true when you say it but a lie when you try to write it." would be the game, not a comment about "to", yes?

Would that be "feedback" or "boldface"?

You had it right. When you say "There are 3 ways to spell to" you are telling the truth. But when you try to write it, however you spell it, it is false.

I gather there was a newspaper story about the pub sign and the debate with 5 consecutive ands ie
"The gaps between Fox and and and and and Goose need to be bigger"
When he wrote it up the editor had difficulty sorting out the punctuation and spacing between and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and and so he resorted to colour coding them.
BTW, as far as I know I'm the only one who has ever bothered to write that one out; google shows some similar ones in monochrome.
