Title: Will our own sunlight return to Earth one day?
Post by: andreiperi on 01/02/2012 14:32:19
can we be looking at our own Sun (or earth for that matter) while watching the night sky ?
Can light which has looped back to us after travelling through space for many light years, reveal to us  our own distant past through a powerful telescope ?

No even if space was curved in such a manner that light travelled a complete circuit around the universe the time delay would be such that we would be seeing our local area long before the solar system came into being.

Good thinking concerning the curveture of the universe.
What if there was such an arrangement of stars in our galaxy as to cause the light to curve back to us ?
