Open Office Word Processor And Page Numbers...

I had a quick go at it but did not actually succeed.
You best use editor formatting outlines too when you do this so you can see where your footer is.
This is an open office org tutorial at its forum. I've had the problem before but pdf's often can be numbered from the doc at the time of pdf creation.

The way I do it is via headers and footers.

Select Format->Page from the menu and then enable headers and footers.

To set the Title data, Select File->Properties from the menu and then enter the Title data in the Title field under the Description tab.

To add the Title to each page, position the cursor in the header region and then select Insert->Fields->Title from the menu.  You can then left/right/center justify, format etc.

To add page numbers at the bottom of the page, position the cursor in the footer region and then select Insert->Fields->Page Number from the menu.  You can then type " of " (omitting the '"' chars), and then select Insert->Fields->Page Count if you want your page numbering to read as 1 of 2 etc.

Select File->Page Preview to toggle to Page Preview mode, to see what the page will actually look like when printed.  Select File->Page Preview again to toggle back to the previous view.
