Yotl paragaya is the skeleton of my scenario for a film about a nuclear war. 


Yotl paragaya (the title sucks)

Muslim scientists succeed in making pills called yotl paragaya from mescaline of peyote cactus and some other ingredients. When a man consumes a yotl pill, four hours later there is a nuclear reaction of hydrogen in human body by means of fission. This man explodes like a nuclear bomb. Muslim fanatic terrorists, some of which call themselves freedom fighters, distribute yotl pills amongst their Muslim brothers and mujahideen. One live bomb detonates himself by consuming yotl in Dallas, destroying the city. Crimson jihad takes the responsibility and says they will detonate more live nuclear bombs in America unless America pulls all military forces out of the Persian Gulf and certain Muslim countries. But the American government, although shaken and shocked, decides to respond by launching a nuclear ICBM on the Syrian city Tell Abyad, completely destroying it. But, another live bomb explodes and destroys Kansas. Americans then decide to withdraw their troops from certain Muslim countries, but they wreak their rage upon Muslims in USA by burning mosques and deporting some Muslims from America, forbidding most Muslims to enter USA. So it is a pat position, since to Americans it is more than uncomfortable and dreadful because there probably are mujahideen in America who hide their identity and loyalty to crimson jihad. These terrorists can become live nuclear bombs at any moment, as it isn’t difficult to smuggle this small pill in USA. This is why the American government considers changing their current policy regarding Muslim terrorists to possibly form an alliance with them and allow Muslims to come to USA again. American police trains dogs to try to sniff and locate hidden yotl at some airports and borders.


The question to the naked scientists: Is such a pill theoretically possible to make, having in mind men’s quite an imagination when it comes to weapons like those of mass destruction. Most probably not, eh?  [:I]  [xx(]

Hi. I’m writing a poem about a sailor that was killed by a siren. His mates fire a cannonball in his honor on a dark night full of clouds. Was this ever done before? As far as I know, gun salute happens always during the day; but I’m wondering about a case which might have happened in the past and was precedent. So, was a cannonball ever fired before from a ship in the middle of the ocean as a salute to a killed sailor? And did that ever happen at night? If so, I will be able to salvage my poem. Otherwise I must think of something completely different regarding the last strophe. Thanks.

Atoms are 99.999999999% empty space which means all the matter that makes up the human race could fit in a single sugar cube. Is it at all possible that 99.999999999% of an atom is actually a non-observable physical body with perfect camouflage? [:I] Could that be the reason why we have mass when we stand on the scale? Or are we all holograms? 

Making an opaque material transparent might seem like magic to humans. But for well over a decade, human physicists have been able to do just that in atomic gases using the phenomenon of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT).

Hi. Chlorophyll gives plants their green color. There are other pigments in the leaves too, such as xanthophylls (yellows) and carotenoids (yellows, oranges and reds). These pigments are also used in photosynthesis but occur in lesser quantities than the green chlorophyll. The combinations of the different pigments make different shades of green.

But, in a fantasy world of mine, I need two types of the trees whose leaves have black and grey color. Don’t ask why. Is that stupid, or it is plausible for trees on another planet to have grey and black leaves, perhaps because of magic in the leaves? Should I feel embarrassed now? Or it is OK because black color absorbs light and heat?

General Science / How long must a prism-shaped corridor be to render a light-source invisible?

You are at the beginning of a long corridor. The corridor is in the shape of a quadratic prism, its width and height 3 m. There is no opening near you, rather a wall (with a side 3 m long) with a ring centered in its middle. The ring is 30 cm in diameter and it is emitting a dim white light. This is the only source of light in corridor. My question is, how long does the corridor have to be so that you won't be able to see the weak light as you move away from the illuminated ring? Approximately how many miles do you have to be distant from the ring-shaped bulb so that all you can see is darkness in the corridor? About 5 miles? You can see the stars in the night sky, which are many light-years distant from Earth, but the star are a lot brighter than some dim bulb. I would be grateful if you could help me on this matter.

Science Experiments / Sliding down the slope

I have a question about friction and acceleration. Imagine a wooden surface, or made in stone (I’m not sure yet), inclined for, say, 40 degrees. I guess you could slide down, right? So since you accelerate as you slide down the incline, will you be badly hurt or even die when you arrive at the flat earth? I need a scenario when you safely slide down for about 10 seconds (w/o getting hurt or you do receive minor injuries). Thanks.

I wrote a riddle, but I'm not sure if the solution is feasible... :I

Vertex tower

A curious man enters a square, tall and wide tower, made in stone. The heavy door closes behind him. Sensing danger, he tries to open the door, to no avail. He looks around. There is a dead elf lying on the floor. He takes a thin, long and sturdy rope from the corpse, made by elves, thinking it might be of use to him. Suddenly, spooky letters appear on the wall: I am Vertex tower. I am alive and I will swallow your soul at midnight. The letters then disappear. The man is chilled to the bone, as he has 3 hrs. to come up with something and save himself. He climbs up the stairway all the way to the flat roof. He thinks of using the rope, which is long enough to climb down the tower, but he has no place to tie the end. He considers tying the rope to the door, but the remaining length isn’t long enough to safely climb down, as he would certainly die. He walks down the stairs and tries to open the door again. The door is firmly locked. But then he calms down and tries to come up with a solution to his predicament. He manages to leave the tower before midnight. How did he do it? 


ANSWER: He ties the less heavy elf and throws it off the tower and then he jumps off the tower on the opposite side. So the corpse ascends while the man safely descends down. Is this at all possible? How heavy would the man and the corpse have to be? About half the weight of the man? Is this perhaps impossible because of, I don’t know, acceleration, or friction? What do you think? Thanks.  xx(

It is possible to use cigarette ashes as a substitute for the fingerprint powder? Could cigarette ashes be applied with a paint brush in order to reveal the fingerprint, if the paint brush has soft hairs? Can a naked scientist give me a definitive answer?

There is a concrete room, which is narrow and 7 m high. The room is immersed in water. The water started to come in through a small hole in a wall. The hole is in the shape of a square, with its upper end 1 m above the floor. The leak can't be stopped. My question is will most of the room be filled with water? If not, how much of the room will be filled with water, approximately? Thanks.  xx(    :I

I have a question about magnets. You are stuck in a room. Its ceiling, which is about 5 m high, is an extremely strong type of magnet, which can be activated by pressing the wall button. You are holding an iron ring in your hand the size of an aureole. Is it at all possible that if you’re holding the ring when you press the button, the magnet will lift you all the way to the ceiling?  In a film, as Bond is fighting with Jaws, he activates and positions magnet to lift Jaws by his metal teeth. But in the film, the magnet was real close to Jaws' teeth. Could a super magnet lift a person from a higher height, like 2 m? How about 5 m, or more? Is that at all possible? Could that be possible in the future as science progresses? Thanks.

I have a question about using a lasso. Can the lasso be propelled 5 m up in the air by hand? Or this can be achieved only with a grappling hook? A cowboy can use the lasso to rope a target 5 m away. But what if he has to reach, with the lasso, a hook on the ceiling that’s about 5 or 6 m high, so that he can then climb up the rope? Perhaps the question sounds a bit silly, since 5 m isn’t that much, but I should be 100% sure. Thanks.

Physics isn’t my thing, but I’m working on a peculiar riddle. You see, there are two boxes in slope’s middle, as the boxes can’t slide down. I wonder if the boxes could slide if you put one on top of the other. If this is at all a possibility, what should the boxes and the smooth sliding surface be made of? And how heavy should the boxes be? And at which angle should the slope be, approximately, so that the above boxes start to slide down slowly ? Thanks.

I have a question about rain clouds. In scene from the film Powder, it started to rain heavily, yet a nurse technician didn't get wet. He was standing about a meter away from the heavy rain. Was that Hollywood or that could actually happen in real life? Or the rain near the tech should've drizzled instead? Thanks.

Hello. Maybe someone here knows for a fact, if an astronaut saw old footprints while walking on the Moon, like, for instance, Charles Duke seeing footprints of Buzz Aldrin. I need the info for a project of mine. I suppose they always land on a different part of the Moon, so that pretty much answers my question, eh? :I
