Apple MacBook Pro (2019), it is getting rave reviews for its stunning blend of performance and efficiency. However, it's only available with a 13-inch screen, and its max 16GB RAM could be limiting for 4K video editing.

Hi

Not so long ago I was looking for a device for a device to edit photo and cut video. This article <dead link removed> gave me a good overview. (Its in german but thanks god there is DeepL :D )

Doing further reserch I got the following specs: RAM at least 8GB for working with1080p, 16GB for working 4K. Those numbers are the minimum so I recommend aiming higher also because video and photo quality is allways getting better so in the future you will need more Ram too. So I recommend at least 16GB, if the budget allows more, go for more.

Processor I got recommended Intel i5- or Intel i7. For videoediting and gaming i7 is better suited.

The Nvidia GTX 1080 is the graphic card that I got recommended from everyone.

So when you have those points chacked, you want also to look at the disply quality, namely at the color accuracy and color space coverage. This is very very important for video editing! Then, you also wnt to look ath the resolution, but in my opinion this is secondary as far as every laptop with the specs named above will have at least a 1080p Display.

I hope that helps, have fun editing and gaming too ;)

The brands ASUS or ACER are best suited for gaming and video editing. From ACER I can recommend the Nitro 5 (with 15.6 inch display, Ryzen 5 processor, 8 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, GeForce GTX 1650, black / red). Or the ASUS TUF gaming laptop (FX505DT-HN450T, gaming notebook with 15.6 inch display, Ryzen ™ 5 processor, 8 GB RAM, 512 GB mSSD, GeForce® GTX 1650, Stealth Black). Take a look at the models and you will see that the price does not always determine the quality or the benefit. This is an absolutely great price-performance ratio. ;)

I use 2x4k curved monitors in my home office.
It reduces the need for my old eyes to refocus when looking from one document to another...

One of the most important factors is the laptop's processing power, which can significantly impact the performance of both video editing and gaming applications.
