Title: What if stars lost mass as they evolved? What would they look like?
Post by: jeffreyw on 26/04/2016 15:33:25
Here is a video showing a star losing mass as it evolves. The diameter is obviously not correct, but it will still be zooming in from the observers perspective because the object is shrinking.

Basically it cools and dies, becoming what is called "planet". The astronomers forgot the other half of their diagram when the star stops shining. I guess that happened because they called the older stars "planets", without realizing their mistake.

The International Astronomical Union has yet to correct this major discrepancy, so I guess I'm tasked with fixing it for them. I'm just glad I'm an outsider so my career is completely detached from the necessary changes.
