Title: Why Do Bunny wabbits Congregate At The Side Of the Road ?
Post by: neilep on 11/04/2007 00:26:12
Me luffs wabbits !!

me has unfortunately run them over too....two in one go once !!

So, why do bunny wabbits congregate at the edge of of a hedge by the side of the road ?..I mean..they have a whole countryside to play with !!

Do they (like the salmon) have this urge , this indelible instinct to be there....?

....and if there was no road.....where would they congregate  ?.....at the edge of a river ?

do ewe know ?...do ewe even care ?

Bunnys are really the assassins of the animal world. Say a newt has a grudge with a toad. A team of rabbits will be sent on assignment from the warren they are stationed at to "make the hit". They will take what they need from the arsenal - a toad is usually stabbed with a hardened stick. Can you imagine garroting a toad? Animals larger than themselves are taken out usually with poison.

BUT the real reason (seriously, now) they hang out by the side of the road is the McAdam. The raised road allows drainage of rain water to the sides of the road and the grass and other edibles grow faster there.

OOOOH that actually sounds like a plausible answer Jimbob, as I was going to suggest it was a good pick up spot for say a, Lovely female bunny to show her ware and be picked by the handsome doting buck who is all about browsing along side the road until he has found just the perfect bunny for a mate! LOL!!!

Rubbish! Lagomorphs are well known as spotters of Eddie Stobart lorries. They hang around at the side of roads hoping to spot "Matilda" or "Jessica" wending their way to distant parts with their loads of whatsits & thingumajigs.

N.B. For the benefit of non-UK residents, Eddie Stobart is a large road haulage company. All the lorry cabs are named after women. There actually are sad little people who go Stobart spotting.

I blame the bunnies for all the unsolved crimes in the world.
Thank ewe Sir Knight Of JimBobshire for this tender morsel of bunny wabbit data......Hmmmm...reminds of the beast that guards the cave in Monty Python & the Holy Grail.....yes yes...it all seems quite clear now !!

Thanks for the real reason too....they are clever bunny wabbits....except when they think the headlights of my car are two juicy carrots !

This is indeed also true...thanks Kareny !

It is well known amongst the bunny wabbit fraternity that female wabbits are not just Doe's but also  ' Hoe's' who barter their sexual wares in return for a few daisy leaves and carrot tops....standing on street corner and by the kerb !!..the dirty filthy wabbits of disrepute and nefarious gain !!...

oh my !!..it seems roadsides are very important for wabbits..........this must also explain the occasional notepad with entries such as ' Veronica' LL05 THP  01:29am ' in chronological order found beside wabbit roadkill !

Combine Harvester Spotting is also reputed to be the extreme sports version of this...something which most wabbits only do once !!
