Title: Why do we not see the writing of the teleprompter?

Newsreaders and such people have their lines fed to then on a camera screen (i think), so how do we not see the writing on our screens?

The layout of the camera, semi-mirrored glass, and monitor screen is such that no rays from the monitor go into the camera.
The camera sees through the glass, but potentially also a "reflection" off the back of the glass, going straight up ... which is why there is a deep black cowling above/behind the glass.
