What I find wrong with "Doctor" Lin's diagnosis - actually, I find it quite disturbing - is that it's not based on any credible, peer-reviewed, scientifically conducted and journal-publishable study and follow up of Postorgasmic Illness Syndrome sufferers.
Unless you can post some credible references for this quack's so-called factual statements, please refrain from further posting at this thread about "Doctor" Lin or actionlove. Feel free, though, to start your own thread at NSF, but since this is a Science Forum founded by a highly regarded Oxford physician, you can expect to be challenged again. Thank you very much.

Thank you very much.ok, ok, I was just interested if anybody had done any tests which directly contradicted his theory about E2, norepinephrine etc.The trouble is I/we havent got much else to go on, so its good to bring everything to the table to talk about.

Several of us continue to look for credible data on POIS. We have found Waldinger, NY Times, Robinson, British Medical Journal and such. We'd love to have more!
Horizon, sad to say, we just don't know. We've all been guinea pigs!
Another day, another POIS suffering beckons, this time because of a NE last night I've had dealings with Dr.Lin dating back to 2004 where as a desperate teenager plagued with this had no-one else to turn to, but back then I couldn't really make any sense of his reply. With the promise of his products apparently curing this problem I immediately sought to purchase them with a credit card taken without the consent of my Father, based on his advice I took these supplements. I bought 3-4 months worth of supply and took them at the intervals which he suggested, the biggest let down was not the fact it did absolutely nothing to reduce my symptoms but the fact I had placed all my beliefs in a product that would cure me, this is tainted my opinion of Dr.Lin, on one hand he has found where the problem lies and then he is marketing a product which says will cure or reduce to an extent which doesn't work, ironic? Yes.But having said that I can relate to the above post where it's mentioned that testosterone is lowered and E2 and Prolactin is elevated, this exactly resembles my case, I'm awaiting the results ordered my an Endocrinologist I'm seeing here, the only problem is that everything happens at snail pace here in the UK, from the time to get the appointment to see the GP, to the time which you endlessly plea for a referral to the time which you actually get to a specialist, in my case it's been 10 years since I first made my case of this malady to my GP about feeling extremely debilitated after masturbation. I've learnt a lot about the general approach needed to get further treatment and taken seriously, I always used to mention that I would feel better after not masturbating or abstaining from sex, the accompanying symptoms would pass and I would start to feel better, this simply isn't the case with POIS, in my case, out of POIS (if that's ejaculating voluntarily) means a wait of ATLEAST a month before cognitive functioning starts to return to a state prior to POIS depending on the episode, I think based on that GP's would focus their attention primarily on the psychological side of things where the roots of POIS lie physiologically, no matter what external conditions I can subject myself to albeit, stress free environment, eliminated all beliefs of even the existence of POIS etc... Nothing ever worked and these were valiant attempts, the problem with POIS is that it doesn't distinguish itself from lots of other similar medical problems, which in turn forces the GP to choose from elimination rather than a unique approach. For me this is chronic, POIS symptoms are always there in one form or another as all mental symptoms stem from this. The best way to get treatment if you have a genuine belief that you do have problems with blood work, address this as a chronic issue, saying I 'I feel weak after masturbation' or 'I'm exhausted after sex' didn't get me anywhere apart from sitting in front of an overgrown buffoon who was a Psychosexual Doctor this was after POIS in general one of the worst situations in my life ONLY focusing on this POIS as a somatic disorder I was subjected to many many anti psychotic drugs due to his frustration of not even being able to touch upon this as none of them worked in any sense of their purpose, close to being sectioned for suicidal tendencies I just spoon fed the answers to him in order to get discharged, this led to problems with my GP then saying the only treatment he has for this is happy pills as such, word of warning to those of you who might be considering to take them they've left me in a poorer state of health than imaginable and have exacerbated POIS beyond belief .When you make sacrifices such as totally abstaining from sex and masturbation, not only just limited to that, but have a mindset for months at a time of not even allowing sexual thoughts to enter in the hope of this to supplement a living that almost everyone around you alone has to be a reason for a researcher somewhere trace the roots of this. I'm in a fairly unique position right now where I have access to medical supplies but don't have the appropriate wealth of knowledge, I'm thinking of changing from an Engineering degree to a degree in Medicine, but I fear I lack in intelligence, aptitude and real interest for the subject, for the sole reason of getting somewhere with this. I am willing to sacrifice myself as a guinea pig if it means we can get the real footprints of this.
I have a hunch a lot of these porn stars suffer from POIS.
I have a hunch there would be a lot of people interested in POIS on the west coast because this is where a lot of the "sex/porn industry" is. I have a hunch a lot of these porn stars suffer from POIS. If I could I would even run an ad for a study just to see how big the response is.
