Is CH3CH2NH2 a secondary amine?

From what I can remember of secondary amines, two of the hydrogens in an ammonia molecule have been substituted for other groups. Your formula would need to be:

Ch3CH3NH

to be a secondary amine.

Some of the 'more recent' chemists on the forum will be more up to-date perhaps.

CH3CH2NH2 is a primary amine. Primary amines R-CH2-NH2. Secondary amines R-NH-R′. Tertiary amines R-N(R″)R′.
