Title: what would we see of an object travelling towards us at near lighhtspeed?

Light from such an object would be greatly blue-shifted. Would we still be able to see it?

The infra red (or microwave or RF etc.) would be shifted into the visible part of the spectrum.

If it was moving towards you it would appear elongated and blue-shifted, (if moving away foreshortened and red-shifted) ...
