Too many people expect their leaders to perform like actors, playing the role of statesman. Trump does not play by these rules. He is bored with the horse and pony show. He is a man of action, behind the scenes and does not pretend  just for the camera.

Two different skill sets are required to be a political leader in the modern era. When you run for office, it is better to be an actor, controlled by writers, directors, producers. These handlers might set up a mud slinging TV drama, with the candidate playing the role of holier than thou. This appeals to the expectations of the masses, who have been conditioned, using media templates. Money is very important for the base conditioning and the directed sales pitch of the actor.

Political actor skills, although critical for modern campaigns, does not always translate to best on the job skills, since the latter requires applied skills, more than acting skills. While the best applied skills may not translate to the best acting skills needed for campaigns.

As an example, your favorite TV doctor becomes what people expect from an ideal doctor, even though that person has no medical degree. He or she is a product of staged direction and mass conditioning. This reinforced expectation is media driven; money and promotion, and will make some people think that a real surgeon is not qualified, because he does not seem to know how to hold the knife with flare.

Trump knows the media is full of crap and is really a business in it for the money. They benefit by actors playing the role of statesmen, since this creates and supports a lot of media related jobs. Trump is on the media union crap list because he has applied skills and is not doing a good actor job. He refuses to hire all the needed illusionists to satisfy mass expectations that have been already conditioned into the herd. Trump is not a friend of Hollywood who promotes their own kind.

So you don't think that pretending his election parade was bigger than Obama's was a horse + pony show?
What about his insane claims that GCHQ bugged his apprtment?
Wasn't that just media bait?
And then there's the wall.
The one that he was going o make Mexico pay for.
Don't you understand that he never thought that would really happen- he was just making noises to get votes.
That's acting, not politics.

Then there's the "man of action" claim.
Yeah- sure- as long as you count golf as "action".

In fact, I don't think the idea of a leader in a democracy could work if the leader didn't already do the "string-dance", right....and maybe be a few steps ahead at the same time....... ::)

Fave:

Trump is no Kermit the Frog, agreed, but Kermit the Frog wasn't asked to fix what appears to be decades of promises to make the rest of the world great the first time at the expense of America and the idea of freedom.

The clear problem with "freedom" is knowing how to reign in "hell" though......."abusers" of freedom........which is why the US appears heavy with rules and regulations. The rules and regulations are nothing compared to the freedom people have in the US......"and that's the problem"....."immigration".

But try telling that to a physicist who's aiming for a nobel prize about replicating the big bang in a lab with his bespoke theory at Cambridge?

You raise a good point.

"England" had no history before the "Arthurian" legends.

Before that it was "Rome"....."England's" "Indians".

Anything else to say?

Alancalverd....how's you're day going. Could it get any better?

Does "Rome" really need "England"? Seriosuly, right?

I know what I would say.

I would use "enlgish" terms, and the words would be cheap, like they should be.

I will still keep using English, because I know how cheap it is.

"paleface"? Really?

What you've said justifies an investigation, beyond someone posting a "Kermit the frog" video.

Sure, this is a "light" section, but that's compared to "physics".

Maybe we should learn to not use words and terms even on this so-called sub-physics level that might offend people?

You may have been misled by the lying misogynistic job-exporting multiply bankrupt racist failed businessman.
Or maybe that's what you consider "good"; I don't know.

Is Donald Trump Pinocchio?

What's a ventriloquist?

What's a "dummy"

Have we looked at these ideas?

Am I going to be given an extra 30 days in happy-acres? (colin2b...take a look).

By all accounts Trump is a very stable genius. No wait! That was him talking about himself. Probably Rupert Murdoch has his hand up Trump's backside. Not because he is a ventriloquist though. He just enjoys it. Especially when Jerry isn't around.

Thanks for pointing that out RD.

Quote :-
" Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton last night (Nov. 8) to become the 45th President of the United States. The man who will be sworn into office on Jan. 20, 2017 was picked to lose in almost every mainstream projection, leading up to the shocking news that he not only won, but soundly defeated Clinton. Presidential elections are decided by capturing the majority of the United States’ 538 electoral votes; at publication time, Trump led Clinton 279 to 218, thus topping the 270 needed for said majority.

But what does that all mean? You might be hearing a lot of talk about how Clinton actually won the popular vote. At publication time, she indeed led Trump by about 175,000 votes, according to the Associated Press. As Clinton-friendly West Coast votes continue to be counted, that margin figures to increase. So if more people voted for Clinton, why did Trump win the election?

This is where the United States Electoral College comes in. It’s been in place since the Constitution was first drawn up and, ideally, it’s supposed to protect against a lot of perceived problems that would come from a straight-up popular vote. Each state is given a share of the United States’ 538 electoral votes based off its population, with totals ranging from California’s 55 to a number of states with only three.

This might seem like a wide margin, but in the big picture, it supposedly levels the playing field for sparsely-populated states like Wyoming and North Dakota, which could see even less national attention if their less-than-a-million populations were siphoned into the United States’ 300 million-plus electorate. The country is undoubtedly a melting pot of social groups, and by giving a unique say to each state, the Electoral College is supposed to foster individual interests that would be swallowed up in a winner-take-all affair.

Hillary won more votes overall, but a multitude of them came from the same few states, like California and New York. Regardless of how decisively you win them, you can only win them one time, and there’s a set amount of electoral votes you earn. Trump’s grand total of votes was spread more evenly throughout the country and he won many more states, albeit often by a slim margin.

Potentially, this would be the fifth time a candidate has won the popular vote but failed to win the election. Clinton’s most recent company is fellow Democrat Al Gore, whose supporters outvoted George W. Bush’s in 2000, but narrowly lost the electoral vote via the highly-contested state of Florida. Low voter turnout has often been tied to such elections and indeed, that factor has also come into play this year: When Trump’s final count is tallied, it’s possible he’ll have earned fewer popular votes than John McCain in 2008 and Mitt Romney in 2012, his two Republican predecessors, both of whom lost to Barack Obama.

To win this year, Trump didn’t necessarily win the most votes, but he won the most votes in the right places. Under the Electoral College, that’s what matters. "

Obviously Americans are Wise enough not to push their Great Country into a civil war, clearly another ' Syria in the making ' wouldn't be a good thing for the international community & a Disaster for the World.

The "man of action" is a shameful draft-dodging coward.

The astute businessman has lost most of his inherited fortune and is now investing in pharmaceuticals at the same time as promoting an epidemic.

The elected leader has told his followers to inject themselves with Lysol, but has not done so himself.

Let the record speak for itself.

Trump has his head up his arse - there is no room for a guiding hand.

God help America.
