I would like to hear your recommendations and why?
I need some fun relaxing things to think about, so
if you all would post that would be swell!
Thank you all in advance!

The Greek Islands - especially the really small ones. And I mean small - I have stayed on islands with no fresh water, and when the power is turned off when everyone goes to bed. Incredibly beautiful, hot and sunny, and when tourists are not in the majority the locals turn back into their charming best.

That's a place called Monodendron on the isle of Lipsi. i haven't been on hols this year yet; just about to enter the planning phase, especially as August has turned really cold.

You should go to Oman and get a tour driver with a 4x4. You can then see turtles laying eggs, the desert, the waddies and the unspoilt cost line. Don't forget to visit a suhk especially on spice market day.

You can come to where I live.

Is that an open invitation?? [:D]
Right guys party at Sean's..... I'll bring some cheese nibbles!

Variola, you live on the downs overlooking the seven sisters? Have you thought of getting a house? Nice area though.
I like Italy. Anywhere in Italy, but the Amalfi coast is nice, if a bit touristy. Lovely weather, food, scenery, historic sites (just dig anywhere). I also like Riva and the Italian lakes.
Being someone who sails I also like the Dalmation islands (Croatia), though from a sailing perspective it has started to become a bit expensive. The Greek islands are a good fallback, particularly the southern Ionian.
For an outdoor life western Canada (Vancouver and thereabouts) is very nice. Being a temperate rainforest area it rains quite a bit (rather like the UK) but has really big mountains and forests to walk/ski on/in. Great sailing too.

Wouldn't that be nice?
Well out of my bedroom window is the back of the downs, and the Seven Sisters pictured, so I am about 5 mins drive away. It is lovely though [:)]

Where is it that you live Sean B, and what kind of sights would I get to see and visit?

A hint is that there was a lot of televised footy here a month or so ago............
No, we do not have lions roaming the streets, although there was a tiger on the loose a while ago........

Henry VIII was a bit too keen on them, as Anne Boleyn discovered.

Creede, Colorado. 9000ft elevation. The Rio Grande river full of brown, rainbow, native trout. Fish in the morning. Ride my bike in the afternoon. Fish again in the evening. The perfect day.

That sounds lovely....
Libby Mountana... nice seasonal changes.. lush wild life... Beautiful rivers and lovely high country... But no ocean.. :-(

I think I would have to say that the Nile Cruise we took a few years ago was the most fascinating holiday I have ever had. It can be a bit exhausting though and I wouldn't mind going back to do the same again, but spending far more time at each port of call.
On one day we were up at 4am to fly from Aswan to Abu Simbel. Upon our return we then took a Felucca (Nile sail boat) for a look around the Nile at Aswan, including the Aga Khan's Mausoleum, Elephantine Island and Kitchener's Island. In the evening we took a stroll around the market, then back to the boat for a night cap and comatose sleep.

St. Tropez in the South of France is fantastic. Beautiful views and restaurants. Fantastic atmosphere, and you can nip over to Tahiti Plage and see Brigitte Bardot sunbathing.
Mind you, this was about fifty years ago. The place is probably completely buggered up by now.

...see Brigitte Bardot sunbathing.
Oh, you lucky dog, you!
