Simphiwe asked the Naked Scientists:
What causes autism and can it be cured?
What do you think?
-
It is said to be an anomaly in the developing brain.
Autism is a psychological disorder, however, more and more genes are linked to the prevalence of autism.
Maybe it's curable if all genes involved are known and if a lot more is known about the human brain, but i do not suspect that to happen in my or your life time.

Autism is a psychological disorder,
I would suggest it's a neurological disorder with some psychological manifestations.
We are yet to pin down the exact causes in the Autism Spectrum which makes curing (even treating) difficult.

Yes with this i mean that it's going from psychological to neurological.
