Hello Nice Astronomical People,
Tonight I went for a drive all by myself and found the moon very distracting because it's soooo ORANGE !!...why ?...I presume it's either atmospheric or the time of year yes ?...I don't recall seeing it as ORANGEas that before and it looks very spooky over here in the UK, espesh when you're driving through country lanes and there no street lights and it's well dark, and it's just a load of fields, tress and bunny wabbits !!

This is what the moon looked like though, it wasn't that big !!!

The orange moon is a charachteristic of this time of year and is due to the harvest. Harvesting releases large amounts of dust into the atmosphere. The particles obviously have an effect on the light emitted from the moon. Interestingly, similar orange tinges can be seen with the moon after major volcanic eruptions for similar reasons!

oddly enough i was looking at the moon tonight and for the first time ever i saw the man in the moon. i really saw a face!! and no i was not drunk or on anything interesting.

Yeah, the man in the moon is cool when you manage to see it.
Why does the moon turn orange/blood red at lunar eclipses? That's pretty spooky, too.
