I've been thinking about this for sometime now, one night I was watching a program about the nearest star, Alpha Centuri, then something hit me. Could it be that our sun is an nucleus for an atom? Could we just be electrons orbiting the central point? Are we just part of some bigger entity. This is a highly unlikely theory. I'd just like to know your thoughts on it...
Thanks :)

I suppose the easiest difference to highlight (although many others exist) is that planets do not posses electrical charge.
In an electrically neutral atom, the electrons have a negative electric charge, and the nucleus has an equal positive electrical charge.
In this scenario, two nuclei that are stripped of their electrons will repel each other. Two stars stripped of its planets will still have a mutual gravitational attraction.

Dear Mystericon;
This is a verydeep line of thinking and is a vergood question.
All that I can tell you is what I was told by Admrial Rickover,
Lear all of the facts and then go on from there and never stop asking questions.
Edward E. kerls
"Learn the facts and go on from there, and never stop asking questions."
