Being American, you wouldn't like English Cuisine. We don't serve giant-sized helpings as standard.

I've been to England many times and have been well fed while there.

Is the top one spotted dick!?

I hate school dinner type puds. My nasty primary school teacher used to make me TRY them until I threw up on her shoes.

Quite possibly. There are many places that offer "Eat as much as you want" lunches.

Not me! I haven't seen spotted dick for 30 years, and it didn't ever look like that! It was normally served after a piece of liver, which was more akin to industrial engine mounts.

I've never had a spotted dick, but then I've been careful!

Chicken Tikka Masala!

Quite true! It was an adaption of Indian cuisine for the British taste and and has been exported to India! It's more English than fish & chips, which was imported to Britain by immigrant Jews.

My mother used to make this using molasses rather than sugar. I can remember her going to the grocery store and getting the fresh fat from trimmed cuts of beef. That, with some flower and raisins and a couple of other things produced a mixture that was put into a coffee can (tin) and steaming it for what seemed like a long tome. Then served it with a lemon sauce over the top

BUT - the cholesterol - DANG, it was really just eating animal fat.

My sister still fixes it. I do not know how she and her husband haven't needed a triple bypass by now! - Oh, and it is called Spotted Dog here.

I believe, my good Doctor, that your fascination with Dick or Dik Dik or whatever you wish to call it, is psychologically a POLE-R opposite of your normal behavior. Have you been under stress lately?
