If exposed to Covid-19 the same day you're vaccinated, what happens?
« on: 18/11/2020 17:56:49 »
This question came in from Wayne:

I know that it takes weeks after being vaccinated before someone is protected as much as they can be, but what if someone is exposed to the coronavirus the same day as being vaccinated?

Would the vaccine give the body a slight head start on identifying the infection and initializing an immune response compared to if they'd been exposed without getting the vaccine? Or would the vaccine make absolutely no difference?

A same-day vaccination might get the attention of your immune system slightly quicker.

But for maximum protection, avoid getting exposed to the virus until a few weeks after the second dose.
