Title: Is it possible to bring someone back from the dead?
Post by: thedoc on 31/07/2015 14:50:01
Patrick Sabu asked the Naked Scientists:

Is it possible to bring someone back from the dead? Does freezing a person overtime ,mean that they can be revived back to life in the future?

What do you think?

According to Macauley, when the Earl of Strafford was colluding with Charles I to put the kibosh on the parliamentarians, the Earl of Exeter advised his Parliamentarian pals that, "Stone dead hath no fellow". They held that truth to be self-evident and so Strafford got topped.

As it was then, so it is today. Dead is dead even if you were to chuck them into Liquid Helium.

Now as to reanimating frozen live people, there are some fish in the Antarctic who can do that. Maybe if you could reverse your ontology until you had your embryonic gills back and then restart differently so you came out as aquaman you could pull it off.
