Pot-growing trailer stolen from Denver trade show
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20110406/us_nm/us_marijuana_colorado
Can't quite put my finger on why, but there is something about this that strikes me as quite amusing.
Some wag asked in the comments, "Was it hitched up behind Willie Nelson's tour bus?"
-
The trailer is valued at $50,000, and there was no marijuana inside the vehicle, he said.
...there will be soon.
I can just envisage a cheech & chong pair telling their friends "you won't believe what we liberated from a trade fair..."
-
An acquaintance of mine knows this guy that has a brother who has a unique goose-neck trailer for sale. Should I buy it?

Were you thinking of using it for Meals On Wheels? It would be a great asset to your community if you were.

Difficult to get usable fingerprints off paper, especially after it has been circulated. Perhaps they wanted to get the Columbian marching powder residues off it instead.

"He said law enforcement officers delivered a fake notification to Steele at his home just before arresting him, reporting his wife had been killed. Sotka said he had decided to do this to see how Steele would react.
Then, Sotka said they broke the news that they knew of the alleged murder-for-hire plot and investigators had spoken with Fairfax. At this point, Sotka and other law enforcement officials at Steele's house immediately could smell fecal matter in the air and Sotka said he believed Steele had "defecated" in his pants."

A lot of people are outraged because they think this new statue of Pope John Paul II is really ugly. Some have even suggested it looks like Mussolini, although, in some of the shots it reminds me more of Winston Churchill. See what I mean?

The same thought crossed my mind, but why would the sculptor stick Winston Churhill's head on top?

The giant scale combined with the "let me conceal you under my cloak (http://d.yimg.com/a/p/ap/20110520/capt.86e9406a830b42338e2c24ca131cdde7-aad249905d89449cb757d8e6cc728a15-0.jpg?x=400&y=341&q=85&sig=_4w1tSrq._OKUkpWjxPqcA--)" pose seems in poor taste given the recent bad publicity about RC priests and children.

The giant scale combined with the let me conceal you under my cloak
Oh no! I wish you hadn't said that. I found myself wondering if it could be a raincoat rather than a cloak.
Something tells me they'll be melting it down and starting over quite soon.

Ahh... yes...
Perhaps I should write to the Vatican and ask if I can have a piece of the dead pope. What should I ask for? A finger or a toe? What would be most likely to bring me eternal salvation?

From these images (http://listverse.com/2009/12/09/15-quite-bizarre-factlets/#item-1) JPII may have gone to the burny place.

We are in the midst of an ongoing debate regarding grizzly bears here. Apparently, according to federal law, you have to get permission from a federal government representative to shoot a grizzly bear before it eats you.
Someone suggested in our local paper that we could solve two problems simultaneously by relocating the grizzlies to Washington DC.
(I suspect our lawmakers have been spending too much time watching Yogi and Boo-Boo.)
-
That could be classed as cruelty to bears, think of all the toxins in the fat that they would get, like dioxin.

DATELINE APRIL 1, 2012:
Scientists at the Inland Submarine Research Center in Pendorielle, Idaho, have released information that they have developed software that can identify the name, address, and location coordinates of anyone posting on the Internet. At the moment the location resolution is plus or minus 2.4 meters in any direction, but ISRC director, Ivor Biggin, said that he hopes to improve the resolution by at least a factor of two with the next software release.
Understandably, the exact algorithms that ISRC use are a closely guarded secret, but Mr Biggin did hint that they are based, among other things, on stochastic transcription defuglement.

Why, that filthy swine. I've half a mind to torpedo his submarine.
Come to think of it, I've half a mind, period
Good grief, I just used an Americanism.

Defuglement sounds very scientific :)

Wow - that Helium is really dangerous when someone has a lit cigarette too close to it - it seems no one was critically injured but I guess it was hydrogen gas rather than helium. As a more sciencey question - what other gases are highly flamable and so much lighter than air that you could make a dangerous balloon filler from

but it is a poor show that the Beeb website doesn't have anyone science literate enough to spot the headline is a no-no.
Particularly as the Hindenburg went down 75 years ago come Sunday.
Even hydrogen is not all that explosive. It just burns and and heads skywards. If those balloons actually exploded, there must have been some oxygen in them. Maybe it permeated through the envelopes?
