Hi. Hope you guys are ok. I need an assistance to anybody who has done this. If I make a charcoal foundry and put two hairdryers one on each side to blow air do you think the temperature of the heat the furnace produces reach at least 1700 C?

What is Sb? I know iron is Fe. And do you know Fe-Sb mixture composition? In percentage

Thank you all guys for your imputs. I think I will do a further research on hydrothermal. I think mixing aluminum oxide with Naoh and heat it may well be a next experiment. Cheers.

Hi guys. Since I posted this post I have continued researching about this problem. My search led me to some guy mixing aluminum oxide, leed oxide and boron oxide together in a crucible and heat in in a furnace at a temperature of 1300 C and the aluminu. oxide melted/dissolved. I want to try it but I think lead oxide is poisonous. What do you think I can use in place of lead oxide which is not poisonous?

Anything that did so would stop it being cast iron.

Sure it doesnt matter if it changes to something new but what chemical elements I can add to reduce its melting point?

Hi Hope everybodh has a good day. I have a furnace that runs up to 1000 C I would like to melt cast iron but its melting point is higher than that. Does anybody knows what chemical element I can add to the cast iron in the crucible that can help to reduce the melting point of iron to under 1000 C? I will appreciate an answer.

Hi

When I mix limestone with water it take a whole day to dry in the sun. What chemicals or compoinds that I can add in tje mixture so it can make the solution dry in an instant?

Another question which is similar. When gypsum poeder mixed with water, what accelerator can I add so the mixture can dry in minutes?

My goal is to make sidewalk chalk but I don't have access of Plaster of Paris in my area

Pretty much anything added as an impurity will reduce the melting point of alumina.
 The electrolyte in aluminium production is more realistically described as "cryolite with alumina as an impurity", than the other way round.

Nothing is going to produce a mixture that is mainly alumina, but with a melting point as low as 800C.

What problem are you trying to solve?

I want to do an experiment to see if I can produce, it doesnt matter the quality, synthetic corrundum. I have a furnace that can go as up as 1400 C degrees. But in order to melt Aluminum oxide it requres temperature of 2200 C degrees. So this is why I want to reduce the temperature to melt aluminum oxide. Initially I wanted to reduce the temperature way lower but it seems it is not possible.

We kmow that people have used a mixture of potassium permanganate + glycerin to ignite thermite. Does these other mixtures also can ignite thermite?

Ammonium nitrate + zinc and drops of hydrochloric acid

Sodium chloride + sugar and drops of sulfuric acid

Ammonium nitrate + sodium chloride + zinc powder and drops of water
