Geology, Palaeontology & Archaeology / Re: No Evidence of the Exodus?
« on: 07/06/2023 03:38:04 »
One can't really bring evidence of the supernatural from the distant past, but there is evidence of a move of people, new foods and pottery into the land. But it has not been well promoted it may be dynamited. Dynamite referring to the fate of mountains and rocks in S.A.

I type because I am persuaded that Moses was a real person and not fictitious as anti-theists would say.

From ChatGPT:
The question of archaeological evidence for the Biblical Exodus is a topic of ongoing debate among scholars and archaeologists. The Exodus, as described in the Bible, narrates the liberation of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt and their subsequent journey to the Promised Land.

While there is a lack of direct and conclusive archaeological evidence specifically supporting the biblical account of the Exodus, it is essential to consider a few factors. First, the Exodus story is believed to have occurred around the 13th century BCE, and it is challenging to find definitive archaeological evidence from such an ancient time period. Second, the events described in the Exodus narrative, such as the crossing of the Red Sea and the wandering in the wilderness, are not easily verifiable through archaeological means.

Nevertheless, some researchers propose alternative theories and interpretations. For example, some suggest that the Exodus story might be a composite of various smaller-scale events rather than a single mass migration. Others propose that the Exodus might have occurred in a different geographical region than traditionally assumed.

It's important to note that absence of evidence does not necessarily equate to evidence of absence. Archaeological discoveries are ongoing, and new findings could potentially shed light on the Exodus or related events in the future. For now, the question of archaeological evidence for the Exodus remains a topic of scholarly discussion and investigation.

Not simply that there is no evidence but that because the event has a supernatural nature, there cannot be evidence for it. Not for the skeptic. I see evidence in archeology, only a bit. Israel exists and must have a beginning.

As I suggested, imagine even if the desert had melted in hundreds of places, that what not be evidence of the Exodus.

There were finds maybe in Jordan like a civilization suddenly changing pottery craft methods, diet from pork to sheep, and a mountain in Sinai with mineral water marks and a natural raised area from which Moses could speak.

It was hard to keep the Bible, it has been under threat, For Christians and Jews, the Pentateuch is more accurate than an Egyptian hieroglyph rock face carving.

There is evidence and lost evidence, but even if people found previously molten sand from the pillar of fire, that would not prove the Exodus happened. For Jews and Christians the readings are alike carvings in stone in Egypt.

What do scientist here think of BLC 1, radio signal from a moving object in Proxima Centauri?

Maybe a USAF secret probe or someone forgot to turn off his phone?

« on: 15/05/2023 12:29:09 »
I have heard several times that there is no evidence for the Exodus, not in archaeology. But I long ago was watching TV and in the documentary some Arabic archaeologists were digging up a waste pit, in it they reported finding deep down, pork bones and above only sheep bones. They probably got rid of the evidence.

And Simcha Jacobovici discovered a mountain with white minerals coating a surface indicating a rich mineral water had flowed out from it. But archaeologists from the west are not legally permitted there. The local government since then indicated they wanted to demolish the region for a building project.

I don't think it is really fair to say archaeology has had a proper scientific run in Arabia.

The Nazi economy worked much better than the socialist one before it,
The Nazis were socialists. The system they imposed resulted in the devastation of Germany and its economy, followed by  50  years of military occupation during which the country was rebuilt and rehabilitated by those the Nazis had chosen as enemies.
Nazism was a vile system, it's economy worked, that doesn't mean it was a good system anyway. Yet even the Nazis placed a high value on their children, putting it's evils like racism, and euthanasia in view as bad examples and sympathy for Nazism and going beyond it in aborting one's own kin as unacceptable.

But this whole thread is founded on nothing.
Unless the OP can actually back up their claims, it should be closed down.
Show us  "The Requirement to Kill Your Child" or admit that you were wrong about it.
In China there was the one child per couple policy, in Iceland they terminate Downs Syndrome children. In the US citizens can have their babies no worries. Although some people who protest want to abort children conceived in rape... The Liberals in the US support abortions, I don't know why. Seemingly the babies are bad for the environment? Bad for the economy, they are coloured...?

Some abortions use a pill.
That is "medically induced".

In which case your benificent deity really doesn't care much for the wanted human fetus, does she? So why get excited about an unwanted one?

I think the unwanted ones matter.

Pill induced abortions go unreported.

Roe Vs Wade led to millions of abortions and many were unreported.
No, it legitimised abortion.

How many were unreported? If they weren't reported, how do you know?

Reporting of medically induced abortions is not mandatory in all US states.

Most abortions are God-given (about 30% of all pregnancies abort spontaneously- i.e because the Lord wishes it so) and are not required to be reported anywhere.
Some abortions use a pill.

There was a change in government policy, Roe Vs Wade led to millions of abortions and many were unreported. I am not a fool for thinking this is a bad thing? I heard reports of late term abortions.

I wonder what the US economy would be like with an extra 60 million citizens aged 50 or younger?
The heart beat bill is progress in my view.

This whole post is unhinged.  You need to stop listening to right wing radio.
I listen to left, right and centre, Indian, Australian, US. Odd that the right opposes the old right, and even the Nazis placed a high value on their infants. It looks like euthanasia is back also. I tend to want the best of both worlds.

The Nazi economy worked much better than the socialist one before it, but having as it were a cancer at the head of state, that only made it progress more badly. It grew strong. China is now a mix of capitalist and communist, and some in the US want capitalism for the big business and socialism for the common people.

Thank God for the abolition of religion.
Why would that be any good? Not all religions are equal. And some point out that they are more spiritual than religious.

Defining religion as the habitual practice following a spiritual high experience.

Abortions were at first looked upon as not so bad because the child by then was only a mass of cells and maybe the home budget was difficult. But then at 8 months and ten minutes before birth.

Here is a PDF file I found.

Things are progressing like a cancer in government, like Nazi Germany. In California, abortion can be after birth by 48 hours and now there is talk of weeks after. They are sourced for spare organs like spare parts. It is a tragedy. I recall at age 11 attending the funeral of a still born cousin. And how grieved a friend was when he also lost a daughter. But some people abort for a career choice. Where is the love in that? For some money and pleasure are what guides them. Like with Maslow's chart of motivations, physiological needs at the bottom. It can imply greed.

Without personification Baal and Marduk are back. Sacrifice for fertility of the fields... but in another form.

Now it is possible a soldier with conscience and faith can be sent to fight for democracy, and his wife and children are hindered from going to church, at school taught queer theory, secular humanism, and abortion as a right, and the wife may be under pressure to kill her baby. He is not given a birth certificate. He returns home to tragedy. What did he fight for?

This is cancerous progress.

Roe Vs Wade gave the care free a toe hold, now they have a foot hold. Difficult to remove.

Christian schools may lose the expression of the right to choose their staff according to the Christian ethos. One size philosophy fits all. Communistic. Following China not so much old America as under Reagan. No business competition and free thought. I want "live the difference." To express conscience and for it to take root.

There is religion and spirituality centred on the conscience. It is obscured if it is too closely tied to nationalism or race or a law system. In NDEs people discover that Jesus is not big on law keeping but prefers live compassion.

Through creeds and catechism can come differences and through superstition surrounding magic, and different gods, races and financial differences and hardship, and some have believed themselves a better race. WW1 was from a misjudging and a terrorist triggered off a collision, for Serbia against Austria-Hungary. The Germans, French and British had so much in common, but there were dividing alliance lines. No hate there, political error, like bad architecture.

I don't think that being error free is a requirement to intelligence nor consciousness. Otherwise, no one would be intelligent nor conscious. And those words would be useless.

Not everyone is as Wise enough to Understand this.

ChatGPT is a Product, not an Oracle.

Why does it refer to itself as
" i "?
When it very clearly is Not an Entity, but just a Thing.
What is the most significant difference between an entity and a thing?
Some now question what defines consciousness.
