The lost Knowledge !!?
Oh yes, I am talking about "The Knowledge we lost"
Our ancients used to have lots of knowledge in following areas
-Geometry
-Math
-Physics
-Other stuff related to construction.
How on earth we lost this knowledge ?
Today when we think about this , it sounds like an alien knowledge......
All our skill are lost in history !!
Why and How ?
I mean like ancient pyramids ,
Ancient MAYA constructions

We still have the knowledge, but we don't have the manpower or the money (nor I expect the will or desire) to build a temple on the scale of Karnak.

well, if we talk about ancient knowledge and our knowledge... it's different cos we are Advanced than our ancients but don't you think that ancients can do more stuff like mysterious Crystal skulls ?
I mean something is secret about it.

Crystal skulls 'are modern fakes'

Two of the best known crystal skulls - artefacts once thought to be the work of ancient American civilisations - are modern fakes, a scientific study shows.
Crystal skulls are the focus of the story in the latest Indiana Jones film.
But experts say examples held at the British Museum in London and the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC are anything but genuine.
Their results show the skulls were made using tools not available to the ancient Aztecs or Mayans.
Researchers say the work, which is published in the Journal of Archaeological Science, should end decades of speculation over the origins of these controversial objects.
And it casts serious doubt over the authenticity of other crystal skulls held in collections around the world.

There were indeed many great thoughts in the ancient civilisations. I think the problem now-days is people are taught to hate to think. And with the advancements in technology, I don't think many people would grow up in the right situations to cause those sort of thoughts. I don't know if this is my big-headedness, but I am starting to see a slow down in creativity and thoughts, people hate thinking! Humour seems to be going down to jibberish 8 year old things... I just feel like the world is getting stupider :( [yes irony shut up]
It is ashame though, what I would do just to see what the thoughts were like back then

I hate PC.. its ruining alot of childrens lives. I am scared to see what monsters we'll breed.
I guess we really do have lost alien knowledge in truth... Its alien because we can't comprehend it.

What do you mean by PC? Surely you're not suggesting that political correctness is ruining children's lives?

I don't know if I am just letting my biased opinion run wild ~ but really I find the Political Correctness is trying to sugar coat everything, and its becomming more so a disciplinary thing. You know, who cares if someone calls a chalkboard a blackboard, or if the term Christmas doesn't apply to everyone. If there is a possiblity for someone to get hurt, then they will just put bubble-wrap on a sharp corner and try to make everyone the victor.
Of course its good to take action based on discrimination, but sometimes I feel like people are just arguing for the pure sake of having to argue.
Ok, I don't know if this relates - but a local government has banned children from doing cartwheels. Why? Because they might bop themselves on the head.
They changed Santa's ho ho ho to hahaha because it was apparently offensive against women.
Rename Fairy Penguin to 'Little Penguin' because it might offend homosexuals.
.. You know, things like that are taken way too far!
I might of went too far to say it was ruining childrens lives, when in fact it will improve it sometimes. But I think teaching the behaviour to sugar coat everything is a very bad short coming. A natural part of growing up is to experience some pain, how else do people learn?
But also one thing I realised ~ arguing for the sake of arguing is apart of human nature.

I think a lot of the hype about PC is actually based on misunderstandings and downright lies by the rabid anti-pc brigade.
As far as I know (both my parents were, until very recently school teachers), it's fine to use the term blackboard to describe a blackboard, Christmas is still called Christmas pretty much everywhere, Santa says Ho Ho Ho just as much as he always has, and Eudyptula minor was only known as the fairy penguin in Australia, but as the Little penguin elsewhere.

Also, don't forget that political correctness and health and safety are different things. Health and safety is a different matter, where public institutions are forced by a litigious society to cover their backs - cartwheels may be banned because of angry parents coming in to shout at teachers about their kids coming back from school bloodied. I totally agree that we should have a few knocks while growing up, but should a school be open to being sued because they didn't make any effort to stop kids from injuring themselves?

As Don said, we still have that knowledge. Actually we have the man power too (if we really needed) what we lack is the motivation. Why build a structure with a huge base and little vertical zonation? Instead we take our knowledge and experience of working with steel and concrete and engineering and build a working or living space that takes up little precious ground room, but provides untold usable space vertically.
It's not that we have forgotten.. we have moved forward.

Last time i checked, ALL the above has dramatically-advanced since the days of the maya... what is it...? Some 2500 years ago, give or take a few hundreds?

PC is about embracing the terms. Although we hear of people making accusations on Santa's laugh and black boards other people (eg the general public) are less concerned with such nonsense.
Does the term black board really offend people? After all it's a board that is coloured black (sometimes green). No, it's just a minor bandwagon issue.
We have a common plant here that has always in my life been referred to as a 'black boy'. This was changed during the PC rave to 'grass plant'. This is an understandable, and not altogether useless, change. The plant looks nothing like an Aboriginal male child... it was an outdated term that was created through racial discrimination.
Similarly, I can understand terms like 'air hostess' being changed to 'flight attendant' to change the perception of 'a female occupation'.
Something only becomes not politically correct if you get enough people behind the idea.
