Infection by SARS-COV2 produces a syndrome called "long COVID"  in a percentage of patients
- perhaps 5% of infected people, depending how you define it
- It is possible that this is an auto-immune condition triggered by the initial infection

So the question becomes: "Is the cure worse than the disease?".
- And that's what vaccine safety trials are designed to demonstrate
- In fact, in a world where a disease is rare (eg polio), a vaccine must pass an even tougher requirement: "Is the cure worse than the likely event that you won't get the disease?".
- Many vaccines fail this last test
- But this last test won't apply to SARS-COV2, since without a vaccine, almost everyone will catch it eventually - perhaps more than once.
